Dropping kerb for new driveway - water utilities issue?

I am considering using front garden for a driveway, and have found out that legally I will need to have the kerb dropped to cross the footpath. However, there are two Yorkshire Water covers on the footpath near the kerb.
Anybody have any experience of what will be required to lower or move these? And what is the likely cost?
Thanks

the cost varies from area to area...and if utility services are involved then there could be extra work that they may seek reimbursment from you for.
Contact your council who will be able to advise.

Unofficial reply would be to contact the council and find who are the approved contractors who you can obtain a quote from.
Next, when lowering the kerb the footpath will need a new surface. Get the contractor to re- bed the covers as part of the job. To protect your interests, the contractor is competent, with a Streetworks Licence, so come to a mutual arrangement with them. This will avoid Yorkshire Water being involved.0 -
It will only be the covers at this height, the valve sets/ meter will be lower so its only a case of re fixing the covers when the drop kerb is installed. As above, providing your roads are adopted highways, your contractor will have to have a street works licence so best off asking you local highways department who is on their approved contractor list. Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0
