advice needed please

OK where do I stand? I have taken a contract out with DFS for some furniture on finance. When going through the contract and looking at the price of them they had made it cheaper. So a error on their part. I questioned the assistant manager whether I would be made to pay the extra and he told me once the manager signed the paper work which he did then no that would be the price I will pay for the furniture. I then had a phone call from the manager today saying that I have to go into the store to change the paperwork to pay the extra money. Is this allowed? I have a signed contract so does this mean that the store has to honour that price as its a legally binding contract? Please help me.

I don't know all the circumstances here, but it sounds like you pointed out their mistake and they said it would be fine. Was it a large amount?

However later they've tried to get out of the contract. I guess the operative question is whether or not they can do this. From the following extract on "mistake" in contracts, I would guess not:
...a seller who, as a result of some miscalculation, offers goods at a price lower than that which he would have asked but for the mistake cannot, after the offer has been accepted, generally rely on the mistake to make a contract void.

I think your position may be strengthened by having pointed it out and the staff saying it was fine and you would pay the price signed for.

I agree with above, the contract should be binding, especially after having it clarified, so you now have a wrtten and verbal contract to rely on.

It's all here nor there. It's clearly an error by a rushed manager. They don't put the finance through immediately.

They do it at the end of the day or the next which was probably when the error was spotted.

So the cynic in me says, expect the finance to be "rejected". If that's how you paid.
