Hi,
This Friday my natwest account was closed by the banking group and i discussed previously with them that on the 18th of may i will be getting my wages sent to my account, i was told that this will go into a suspense account and that i will need to go in branch with id to withdraw. i called up the bank to see if this is going to happen and they told me no that the funds will bounce back to the sender.
can someone please help me with this
thanks

So, what's the difference between the 'banking group' and the 'bank'?...by the banking group... i was told that this will go into a suspense account and that i will need to go in branch with id to withdraw.
... the bank.... told me no that the funds will bounce back to the sender.
...
The most recent information looks more plausible to me though.0 -
Maybe the OP has been told s/he can't bank with RBS either now.Interests: PCs. servers, networks, mobiles and music (esp. trance)0

OP surely Nat West gave you notice of the account closing - why did you not open anew account and advise your employer?0

another member of the banking group may have told him to shoo :idea:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
the funds would have been returned to sender due to account being closed at time of transaction.
Sounds you were misinformed when they told you it would be in a suspense a/c awaiting your collection.
will need to make other arrangements with sender.0 -
I can't imagine there is any way for cash to be paid out from a suspense account, so I think the first advice was incorrect. Whether the second is correct depends on whether the account was fully closed before the payment was due to be credited: if it was then yes, it should bounce back, if not then it will probably end up in a suspense account and the employer will have to ask their bank to recall the payment.0

These letters say they are not welcome anywhere within the same group (i,e. RBS, NatWest and Ulster).
It is also usually originates from a central department that works across the various brands so they probably have spoken to someone identifying themself with the bank group rather than individual bank brand.Dr_Cuckoo3 wrote: »another member of the banking group may have told him to shoo :idea:This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
