Car stolen- loss of NCD

Hi my car was nicked 2 weeks ago, my insurance company said I will lose 2 years NCD.
My question is....At the start of my policy n January I had 4 years NCD, so come next year when I want to renew or buy another policy, will I have 2 or 3 years NCD?
