Mis-sold gym membership

Ok, fed up of people saying I didn't read the contract so have gone through 3 years of paperwork and found it. It is in the form of a signed application form with t&c's on the back. It has a box ticked saying membership plus and the total price (although the box has a pound symbol for a sub total to be written in). It does not state the base price, or that of the added extra, just the total cost - all the sub price boxes have just had a line drawn through them. There is no mention of the bring-a-friend that I was told about on the phone, so I assume its the plus bit of membership plus. There is no explanation of membership plus, even in the terms and conditions. It also has other inconsistencies ticked like towel hire, which the gym does not even offer and the start up P.A sessions that I did get is not ticked.0
