I'd like a word of advice please if anyone knows.
I've been using Avasti free security for quite a while now, lately i've been getting pop-ups to remind me it's due to expire and i need to renew it. When i've had that in the past there has always been the option to carry on with the free version but this time there only seems to be a choice of various standards of paid options.
I googled Avasti and they still seem to be offering the free version.
Does anyone know if things have changed ? Thanks.

Don't worry, just go and download another free version from somewhere like Filehippo.0

Yes i thought there are others, and i could even go back to their website and start again. Not sure when it runs out but it must be any day now, the pop-ups have been coming up for a couple of weeks.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

This happened recently to a relative - they had installed a free trial of the premium version (I think with a firewall etc) and could not renew to the free version. They fixed it by uninstalling the premium version and installing the free version.0

My missus had inadvertently upgraded to the free trial of Avast pro, which then expired. I can't remember exactly what I did, but I was able to "upgrade" to the free Avast version from within Avast itself. (It actually downloaded the free version, uninstalled pro then installed free).0

I think the OP means "Avast!" I've been getting those reminders for a while, updated it yesterday and still need to restart but it did require a bit of a search before I found the free version to tick.0
