shed floor insulation cardboard?

We have just had a workshop built in the garden and now we are re-fitting the kitchen. Would it be possible/worthwhile/harmful to use the large pieces of cardboard under 6mm plywood to insulate the shed floor?
If it is not a good idea then what would be the best way to insulate the floor.
we are probably insulating the walls and roof with insulated plaster board or expanded polystyrene with normal plaster board depending on price when we look properly.
Any suggestions welcome please

I think that cardboard would soon get damp and not only stop insulating but make the floor feel damper and colder than using nothing. In an outhouse I used expanded polystyrene sheets 2 or 3 inches thick and laid floor boards over the top. This was very warm underfoot.0

Can't beat Jablite(polystyrene) for insulating floors. It comes in different sheet sizes and thicknesses,is very light and easy to cut and not very expensive.0

Thank you. I hadn't thought about damp collecting.
Is Jablite a trade name? Is it available from big DIY warehouses or where? Thank youDoing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......

I'm not sure if you have already completed your floor project BUT
we have been researching how to best insulate our ground floor , concrete slabbed extension
a product called SELITAC avaible form Vanilla flooring looks great and costs about £11 approx for 5 sq metres
Its easy to fit and the floor can be "floated" on top, There are LOTS of inferior and expensive products readily avaiilable but this seems to be the best! Ask me next week!!!:j:j:j0 -
not just damp but wee little vermin/furry things, just love to eat cardboard etc...Get some gorm.0

This may seem the wrong way ound but so far we have only insulated the roof. Working our way down!
Where did you get info on the SELITAC flooring? (I just Googled 'SELETAC Vanilla Flooring' and got something that looked rather rude!)Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
