I think in most areas, certainly in mine it does not exist at all. You could register it as single occupancy for some discount.0

Only if a single occupier was actually resident.my rented property is now empty and i have put it on market to sell, does the 6 month free council tax still exist??
Local authorities have retained what was previously the 6 month Class C exemption in the form of a discount (now a Class C discount under the new legislation) however each area has their own criteria for the rate of discount (and some give 0% discount).I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -

Do you know if it is possible to register empty property as single occupancy for council tax?
It seems the wrong way round at the moment: an empty property is charged at 100% (with no services being used) as opposed to only 75% for having a person living there (and using refuse services etc).0 -
