Scottish Power Help......

Good Evening,

My Scottish Power online fixed price energy July 2013 offeris due to expire, I have received an email saying that unless I choose another option I will be moved to standard prices.

Scottish Power have suggested based on the way I run my account the, online fixed price August 2014.

My direct debits have gone up once, 3 months ago when I entered my metre readings. I have yesterday entered new metre readings and my account is showing £150 debt, so I am exception another rise in my DDs.

Can anyone advise if it is best to stay with Scottish power on the fixed August plan, or switch providers it will be coming up to 15 months I have been with Scottish power come July.

Many thanks

July is quite a long, long way away so don't make any decisions yet.

To judge the value of Scot Power's Price Fix August 2014 offer, you need to visit the Switch sites in mid-June - Even at this moment, there are Fixed tariffs around that go way beyond August 2014, but like all fixed rates they come at a price

In short - loyalty never pays extra today.
Go to your favourite switching site.
    Enter your usage per year.
Find the cheapest deal, fixed if you want.
In some cases, it can make sense to switch early, though probably not at the moment.
Go through a cashback site, for extra savings.
Make sure you apply for any applicable grants - warm home initiative if you're on low income on some benefits, for example.

I have the same deal you have with Scottish Power. If you go online and to SP website ,log in and you can get the usage for the year .Then go to a comparison site and put the figures in.
I did that and found out SP was the cheapest but not the one they emailed me about.I called SP and really helpful guy on the phone signed me up for the cheaper one and he has arranged it not to start till July.

  • I have only been with them for 6 months and am definitely leaving them so suggest you do the same.
I have had problems with them from my first meter reading (3 months ago) and now (3 months later) the same problem but they have conveniently lost the record of the previous complaint call I made.
Today speaking to the manager called Gary to complain I am informed SP are not a bank but a energy provider!!!!!!!!

Miss-sold, miss-led and now sarcasm as well
Eat my dust SP I am leaving you TODAY!!!!!!!
