Is being on rightmove enough or is it best to be on Zoopla etc

Sorry another question and I am sure it will have been covered so please feel free to direct me to the appropriate thread (I think that's what its called-still learning!). I had a few estate agents in and one said that they would only advertise on rightmove this is the one we are thinking of going with but I am concerned this is not enough. However everyone I have spoken to has said the first one they would go to is rightmove then possibly gspc (they have the monopoly in our area). So is it enough just to be on rightmove?

Personally I only use Zoopla to look for houses - and most of the people I know prefer it too. It probably doesnt matter too much so long as you are getting plenty of viewings.

Rightmove is clearly the biggy and most user friendly. GSPC is for homes marketing via solicitors; with some solicitors also on Rightmove.

IMHO If you are on Rightmove then that would be sufficient.

Being on Rightmove is the essential one due to its size and popularity.

Personally I find Zoopla to be a poor site which isn't very user friendly.

thank you for your replies that's helped me make up my mind.
  • Rightmove is the first place I'd look but I would then go on zoopla for easy access to extra bits of info such as local info, date first listed. It is good to be on both but if you can only go on one, I think it has to be rightmove.

    In Scotland?

    Absolutely not.

It is better by far in most parts of Scotland, and downright essential in some, to be with a solicitor/EA that also advertises on the SPC sites.

In my area there are 1102 houses for sale on the local SPC site, and just 26 on right move.
