Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 19th May 2013

Welcome along CountingPennies
You can choose how to make the challenge work for you. I think initially the challenge was just for miscellaneous items that we 'waste' money on, but I include any expected spends for the week, including petrol, and a weekly budget for groceries. I then have an amount for misc spends such as meals out, nights out etc and try and stay below this.
I work out at the beginning of the week what I have planned and roughly how much I am happy spending on these things then set my budget.
I think its just useful to gain an understanding of where money is spent without realising it. The odd magazine, choccie bar etc, although you obviously still need a life too.
Good luck with your budget.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -

Hi everyone!
Congratulations ETO, that's amazing news!
I left for Bristol on Thursday and didn't get back till this morning. I have been sticking to my £10 for the week as usual even though I haven't been on here to post. So far this week I've not spent any money yet so far so good ;o) I'm going out for a drink with a friend on Friday so am saving up my £10 for that
Hope you're all having a fantastic week!
Cheers
Casper

Just checking in to say I've managed not to spend anything so far this week :j :j
Planned spend on Thursday as I'm travelling for work so will get petrol on the way back from the train station....that will soon eat into my £50 budget for the week
Welcome CountingPennies . I started just counting misc spends but now include petrol and groceries to try and keep me on track. I usually (!) manage to stay green so I think it's working

Argh. Life is getting in the way of my finances at the moment. New job, trying to find a new flat, T4 Cima exam tomorrow, and a three hour a day commute until I find new flat is completely overwhelming. Think I tried to tackle too much at one time.
On the plus side, I have spent nothing as I am too busy. Will be back in the thread proper next week as I find it really useful.
Hope everyone else is having a good week. X0
