Hi
Its question time again! Has anyone heard of a business type telephone that has the option to use 1 phone for 4 different lines and where you press the line thats lit and answer accordingly. For example a business has 4 people that each use a mobile number as their contact number and instead of having four mobiles laying around and being used frequently I was hoping that the lines could be combined into one main proper telephone handset but still being able to distinguish which partners phone was ringng??/
Sorry its not very clear but I dont know what type of phone if any this would be called.
Thanks for any help once again

I think you want a GSM Gateway device or Fixed Cellular Terminal
Google "GSM gateway" / "Fixed Cellular Terminal" you will find loads of potential links0 -
Talk to a business telecoms provider - it'll need a switchboard of a type installing.
You can almost certainly get an effect similar to what you want with Asterisk, but you'll have a bit of hard work to do to actually interface with it.
That said - can you use dmClub's free service to configure up something similar enough to be useful?0 -
Thank you for the replies - I shall look into them.
