Red Spotted Hanky

Options
I exchanged Tesco Clubcard points for vouchers for this lot last week. The Tesco e-mail said the voucher would be available in 72 hours. Five days later (i.e. 120 hours), no voucher so I e-mail RedSpottedHanky asking when can I expect the code. They say they have been overwhelmed and will try to get all codes out by 24 May. This is no use to me as I need to book a ticket for next week. I have had to buy the ticket with cash as the prices were increasing the nearer the departure date got.

Can I get Tesco to cancel the vouchers and re-instate my Clubcard points due to the delay?

I'm sure you will be able to.

I presume RSH were inundated because of the Tesco free vouchers offer that ended yesterday.

No. Tesco don't cancel vouchers once they've been swapped. I had an issue last yr where I exchanged my points for vouchers towards a hire car for a holiday, booked it, and then a few days before we were due to pick the car up got a call from the rental company saying that I wasn't old enough (I was 25, needed to be 26, they didn't clock when I booked) and therefore they'd have to cancel the rental. I asked Tesco to change them back and they said they couldn't and I would have to use the vouchers within 6 months or lose them. So I hired a car later on in the year (after my birthday). Was quite annoyed though. Sorry, that's probably not what you wanted to hear!

They've cancelled them for me before. One of those cases where, if you don't get the answer you want, you are best to call back and speak to someone else ;)

I shall try that next time ;) I don't particularly like the company I was forced to hire from... but even more annoyingly, I actually hired from them before about 4 years ago, and there wasn't this age restriction then! It also only applies to my city, not the surrounding ones!? Clearly the younger drivers in my city are too much of an insurance risk! :rotfl:

Too late for the original OP it seems, but to others,if they dont come through, you need to stand your ground with clubcard.
We had an issue with double up vouchers not arriving last week,so finally they sent a manual email with codes.
  • I have checked my redspottedhanky account and I havent received the tesco credit either.

    I have this same problem!

We are going down to London on 26th to 28th July. We exchanged £10 worth of clubcard vouchers to be double up to £20 to spend on redspottedhanky (or as other half said to his mum - red hotted spanky :T).

Ordered these 5 days ago, said would be 72 hours. 72 hours come and gone and no vouchers. Rang RSH - said it was Tesco's fault. Rang Tesco - they said it is RSH's fault. Rang RSH... will definately be in by Friday. Allegedly. They also won't let me have the vouchers refunded. Had to order on the trainline (at least made £1.89 on topcashback) as train tickets were increasing in price.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr! Does anyone know if we can have clubcard exchange vouchers refunded back into Tesco points if they've not sent them to us in a timely fashion??

But this wasn't the £5 credit. I exchanged clubcard points to buy a rail ticket which I've now had to buy with cash and still no sign of the RSH e-voucher. No full reply from Clubcard either despite an auto-acknoweldegement saying they would be "in touch within 24 hours".

How much is cashback for trainline then? I still bought my ticket from RSH but think I only got 2%.

    Just seen this

No blooming wonder we haven't received the vouchers we have paid for. There was the Tesco freebie last week and now this. I wonder if they are in some kind of financial mess? They seem to be offering a heck of a lot of freebies, presumably to attract more cash-inflow in the short term..
