Is it possible to change payment dates for CC's?

Options
Hi all,

I usually have my bills come out on the 1st of every month (creature of habit) so I know exactly what I have to spend during the month. I have recently acquired a AMEX Platinum Cashback CC and was wondering whether it is possible to change the day my payment is due?

Is it just a simple case of picking up the phone and arranging it?

Thanks in advance

Most companies allow you to change your payment date, some don't or you can only select a certain few dates each month.

I would suggest you ring them to ascertain whether they do or not, as easy as that!

    MBNA certainly used to.

If you use DD, do doublecheck that you don't somehow miss a payment during the transition.

You can generally change the statement date, but not the payment date. Phone them and discuss what date would best suit you.

You can change the payment date. But on a credit card it's not going to be the 1st of every month.
Simply by the way they work and the fact that not every month has the same number of day.

Changing the statement date will automatically change the payment date to n days from the new statement date.

My experience of it is that CC companies are generally happy to change, but sometimes only to a band of dates (eg between 4th and 9th), not a specific one

And some will only change it once...period. And others will charge you £10 for the privilege of changing it.
