FOS Upheld - Bank Appealed Their Initial Assessment - Advice Needed

A PPI claim rejected by NatWest was upheld by FOS. I am now informed by FOS that NatWest are appealing the FOS initial assessment.
I have been sent the letter from NatWest to FOS and I would also like to respond to things in that letter but not sure I am able to (for example Natwest main reason for rejecting in the first place was that it was a non-advised sale this is not really mentioned even though their evidence suggests otherwise) Should I (can I - is this allowed) write to the ombudsman again?
I have no sense of the how likely it is that FOS will change their initial assessment and whether engaging at this stage on some of issues would help my case or whether they could only be made at full Ombudsman stage.
Would value any advice/experiences.

Banks tend not to appeal the adjudicator decision unless they feel there is something clearly wrong in the adjudicator decision.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

You aren't able to respond in any way that would have any effect. The bank won't correspond with you directly with regard this matter while the complaint is in the hands of the Ombudsman.I have been sent the letter from NatWest to FOS and I would also like to respond to things in that letter but not sure I am able to
The Bank have already investigated your complaint and not upheld it. You've referred your complaint to the Ombudsman and the INITIAL assessment has gone your way. The Bank have contested this because they feel your complaint has no substance. Of course you feel differently or else you wouldn't have referred your complaint.
It's important to understand that this is merely the first part of a long and drawn out process. Expect this take as long as eighteen months with no guarantee of success.0 -
Call (or email) your adjudicator and get them to explain the next part of the process and when/how you can respond or add any additional information. Don't miss out on the opportunity to put your point forward.0
