Uninstall it through add/remove programs (xp) or programs & features (vista win7), then run the above (AdwCleaner).
It's not showing in my add/remove section, though the toolbars were & I immediatley unitstalled those. So I still get ilivid download manager coming up.:j I hope my comment helps :T0 -

I deleted the post - I missed that you were using Win 8. ADwCleaner does support Win 8.0 -

It's not clear whether you've run AdwCleaner or not.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

Once I've downloaded AdwCleaner & done the nasty, will it be easy to also remove AdwCleaner?
Right click it, chose 'run as administrator', select uninstall.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
AdwCleaner is a standalone executable - It doesn't "install" as such. The uninstall function deletes the executable and any logs it's created at the root of the system drive.0

I wouldn't dwell on your son downloading a virus / adware.
Even the brightest have done it.
The important thing is that you have the software to protect yourself.
Go give your son a big hug and thank him for allowing you to exercise your mind in clearing the issue.0
