Tart up or leave?

Wife is about to sell her '57 Jazz. There is one scrape (not dented) near the rear wheel arch and a couple of scuffs below the front bumper. She has also badly scuffed up the front alloys. Otherwise in VGC. I'm in a dilemma whether to tart it up or to sell it for less. I would think £250-£300 would sort the above but would I get that back on the sale? Do buyers expect "immaculate"? Is it easier to sell immaculate at a higher price or scuffed at £300 less? Opinions?

I think people can accept bumper nudges and scuffed alloys, but I wouldn't like a big scrape around the wheel arch - would look uncared for.0

Clean, hoovered, clean seats, etc. You could get one of those car paint pens to cover any lighter scratches, but you need to not look like you have tried to hide anything. Be clear whats wrong with the car from the offset in adverts etc and you won't get people coming in getting pee'd off and wasting your time.
Every cheapish car I've brought, I've never brought because I thought the car was amazing, but I trusted the person selling to me. If I felt they were honest and trustworthy, it generally turned out to be a good car!
Brought a 02 Fiat Punto 2 1/2 years ago for 1200, passed every MOT so far and only had to spend 200 quid on a few diferent bits (my fault can I add as I didn't notice a massive pot hole in the road which ruined my wheel arch! )0 -
Give the car a thorough wash, wax, polish and hoover and polish inside. Amateur repairs make panels look worse and can often devalue a car because a half-baked cover of a blemish hides a more serious problem.
Different where a proper paint stick has been used to dot in paint chips and the like, that shows a caring owner.0 -
Its a car that appeals to certain more mature buyers, as well as others obviously, i don't think the damage you mention will go down too well with them...they are after all the least likely to try to fiddle or scam you so not the best group to discourage.
only my opinion.0 -

+1
Honda Jazz buyers will expect the car to be mint and wont want the hassle of getting any work done.0
