PPI Claim And Self Assessmet TAX YOU PAY

Hi,

To quickly update I was one of the lucky ones who managed to reclaim all my PPI on six Clydesdale Bank loans in Sept 2012 after nearly two years, I had to eventualy email the cheif Ex of the bank to get it finaly sorted, so much hassle.

So .... He I was getting a refund of a fair bit of cash, I did my checking and after paying the PPi company there cut I updated the Tax Man so to speak (HMRC) i paid them there cut as I knew I would owe tax on some of the PPI.

NOW....as I had to pay this tax on line and only way was to do complete a full self assessment tax application which i was not happy about I did and it was all sorted.....Well thats uintil now Im yet again being asked to now to AGAIN complete a full self assessment of my income despite working for 20 years and paying tax PAYE of my wages....

Has anyone else had this issue? Ive written to them stating they take me off this as it was a one of issue and I should not be on self assessmet as not self employed etc... What a farce this is totaly. as yet no reply so be warry they will come back wanting more and more information...

Hi, could anyone offer any advice please. Bank has offered a sum to the FOS which which think is acceptable. They have stated that they will e mail the bank asking if they can make this offer to us. Is this a normal procedure and will we get the amount they have suggested to FOS? Many thanks.

Just to update the tax office did finaly get back and agree that I should not be on self assessment. It looks like an automatic system in place tags you if you have been on self assessmet for what ever reason. Job done:money:
