Micro SD card- how do I get capacity back?

I have an 8gb card which was showing less than 1gb capacity. I downloaded SDFormatter and have got it back up to 7.39Gb. However the program I want to load (AndroidforNook) is saying insufficient capacity as it needs an 8GB card.
Anyone know a way to get this card back up to 8GB and save me having to buy another (as it must be an 8GB Class4 Sandisk I install program on.)

My 8gb usb stick formats to 7.38 gb - I think this about right because of the way capacity is measured/calculated?0

you never ever get what it says on the tin exactly, answer in short you are going to have to buy a new one, but cards are now dirt cheap have a look on amazon a good place to get.
16gb one with adapter £7.37

or 32gb if it will take it with adapter £15.33

Yep, computers use 1024 rather than 1000 to calculate capacity so for example 1000KB isn't 1MB but 0.9765625MB hence why there's always a differenceNow free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
Thanks, all, for your replies. Obviously something not right with my Android for Nook download so will go back to them. I thought maybe I had lost some capacity when using SDFormatter.

I did specifically say in my original post it had to be Sandisk 8gb Class 4 but maybe you didn't have your specs on. I am aaware of card prices which is why I would never normally buy a small slow 8gb capacity Class4 card but that is what I need for the software to install correctly - and I don't want to buy another! Format the card in the device.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

The simple answer is you can't "get capacity back" because it never went anywhere in the first place.
Just multiply capacity stated by the manufacturer (unformatted) by 0.93 and you have your formatted capacity.0
