    Morning all,
Up early and like you TRU I have washed the sofa/chair covers and hung them out at 8am and they're nearly dry. I'm making a steak & onion plate pie for dinner just popped it in the fridge ready to bung in the oven later. All of DH's clothes are washed, ironed and hung up ready to pack for his flight to Vancouver next Sunday.
DH will mow the lawn and I'm going to weed the garden this afternoon. I need to go and tax my car (£225 yikes !!) and get some fresh veg.
DH had his x-ray and will get the results on Friday, Just phoned the hosp re my DSis and was told to phone back at 11.00 as the Drs/Consultants are with her.
    Have a good weekend all.

    Hi everyone.

Our fish and chip takeaway last night was delish. It's not very imaginative, but for lunch today we have chips and fishcakes of the home made variety. I'm sure they'll be fine, but they won't have that chip shop taste.

Been doing a load of ironing this morning.

This afternoon will be given over to eBaying. I have several pairs of trousers in auctions that will finish this afternoon. I've had lots of enquiries about combined postage, so it looks as if there is a lot of competiton, so I'm hoping for good results.

    Afternoon All

Beth, big hugs to you, hope the news is good.
HH - Sorry to hear you're having more trouble at work.
Julie - You do sound to be in the wars!
Hugs and well wishes to all those feeling under the weather.
Molly - Your son has talked to you so that's a start, hope he can get the help he needs.

Didn't finish work till 10.30 last night and was up at 7 to see DD off to work. If I don't get up with her she doesn't take a proper packed lunch and would have to buy something each day. I will leave her tea for her as I am back at work at 7 tonight.

Been to H0me Bargains, Wilkos and Lidl for shopping. The school I am working in is running a collection of backpacks for African children via the Mary's Meals charity. I bought everything on the list (the most important thing seems to be a spoon so I bought a pack of 6) The list also includes a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, towel, pencils and crayons, clothes and flip flops. The total came to £23.19!! Still, I watched a programme a while ago about the scheme and the children were so happy to receive the bags it's worth it.

The weather is dry at the moment after torrential rain during the night but it is so dark, will have to put the light on if it doesn't cheer up. We have had 3 lovely days though so shouldn't complain. Washing will go on the airers. Need to have a hoover round and clean the bathrooms, apart from that I shall have a chill on the settee for a while.

Take care and enjoy your weekends. XX

    Afternoon all,

a bit of a late entry from me but i'm still here. Groceries bought and put away. I spent £73 so i can pat myself on the back for that.

An amusing story to tell you.

Last night hubby washed the brushes i'd used to varnish the veranda and he couldnt find the washing up liquid. I'd been using it in the bathroom and he didnt ask me where it was as i'd fell asleep so he used the shampoo i use from Ald!. Its the 1ltr bottle in the so called professional range. When i woke he told me what he'd done and added it was better at cleaning brushes than anything else he had ever used. I am now beginning to wonder if i am naturally grey or whether the shampoo is stripping the colour as i use it.:D

I'm ready for a powernap now.

News. Tomorrow is the last day any objection can be raised about my daughter and her partner adopting 'Soldier'. His Father has till midnight Sunday evening to claim his son but since he gave him up for adoption, i dont think thats very likely. The fact that he is dying from Aids is possibly another reason why he wont change his mind.

Hope your all having a lovely Saturday. :)

    Hi all

Posi-vibes for all who need them.

    Molly
I hope your poor DS can get the help he needs; must be such a worry for you, and not doing your own health any good.

    Hester
your "idiot at work" is in need of a good slap upside the head imho. They really need to act their age, not their shoe size!

RosiePuddingPaws sorry to read that your cat has travelled the Rainbow Bridge (only just caught up with the tail end of yesterday's thread).

Pjran sorry to learn that you have MS; there seem to be quite a few of us here with debilitating health issues of one sort and another.

Been busy today, and will be all next week, for the simple reason that "walkies" for Dave take up two whole hours out of the day! He really does love his walks though, and he's made several new doggy friends already.:o Thank the gods for my mobility buggy!:D

I did a task that I feel was above and beyond the call of duty this afternoon, too - dicing up cooked chicken, for Dave's meals._pale__pale__pale_ I suppose I should've got Mr LW to do it, but he'd already volunteered to change the bedlinen, and gone to do that, and I hate asking him to do tasks that I can at least attempt myself. I suppose I should think myself lucky his owners have provided it ready cooked, so I don't have to do that as well.:D

The little chap has claimed the big green chair in the lounge for his own. That's fine by me - I never sit in it myself; it's a kind of rocking chair, and if I try and sit in it, it invariably pitches me onto the floor, so I stick with the sofa.:rotfl: Dave's so little that he can leap up onto it and it stays still.:o Mr LW bought the chair before I came to live with him; otherwise the wretched monstrosity would never have come in here.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Evening All

Someone the other day was after some house phones, wonder if they saw this

Been working on my cushion covers today, 4 x 42cm covers from a single valance, very patterned, so working out to ensure patterns match, else they will drive me nuts.

Weigh is coming off, though oh so slowly, but at least in the right general direction.

((hugs)) to your DS Molly you know we are here if you need an ear.

Afraid I cannot face Beetroot, so not a wonder food for me.

Enough waffle - ((hugs)) to those of you suffering on a regular basis. Hope your DSis is improving Beth and DH's scan is OK.

Take care everyone, and ((hugs)), Spoons, Hi-5's & Positive Vibes - grab your poison.

It was me looking for phones so Thanks for the link.

Very strange with only three of us in the house today and DH went to farmer's market so really only two of us for most of the day.
DH came home famished so made him chicken veg and noodle stir dry and then YS steak with new potatoes and veg tonight.

Local butcher had a hand of pork for £1.25 a pound so experimenting with that tomorrow for Sunday lunch with new potatoes, home made yorkies, stuffing and veg.

Our willow pattern plates are getting chipped so ordered some more and  at the price but getting free postage so saves me schlepping round the shops.

Hug to all who could use one.
