annual review pack !!

just done ours , i gave them our new income figure for 2006/2007 for the 2007/2008 tax credits.

our income never went over the £25,000.00 disregard figure , the lady on the helpline tax credits would not deduct my husbands pensions contributions she said we dont need them. my husband changed jobs in january 07 ,we did inform them of this when he started, anyway he payed pension contributions in his last job which were not deducted from his p60 figure they never were in his last employment , tax credits have always deducted his pension contributions in the past , because they were not deducted from his p60 figure. so im a little confused..

also have any of you heard from the tax credits since you gave them your new income figure for 2006/2007 . im just wondering because our income figure is a little bit higher than last years and not £25'000.00 more than last years income figure..

just wondering if going £1'372.00 over last years income figure will change this years figure it was supposed to be a lower figure but tax credits wont deduct his pension contribution of £535.43

see you from kerry ...

    Hi

You can only deduct pension contribtions off your P60 if you pay into a personal pension scheme. If you pay into an employers scheme ie the monthly pension amount is deducted straight from your salary then this amount is already deducted from the income that is shown on the P60. This may be why they advised you not to deduct the pension amount. However if you pay privately into a pension scheme direct from your bank then the gross amount of the contributions can be deducted from yor P60 income.

    Hope this helps.

no my husbands previous job , his pension contributions were not deducted from his p60 figure , his previous job said they dont deduct it from his p60 figure we have to do it for tax credit purposes. also on his wage slip it only showed the payment that he had payed , and on the bit on the wage slip where it says wage upto yet that never showed the deduction of the contribution that he had payed into his pension . so we had to do it .

my husband asked his work when he used to work there and they said the p60 did not show any of the pension contributions that my husband had made towards his pension. we just had a annual letter from his company pension scheme.

so his p60 figure only showed his total earned wage 52 weeks . with no deductions of a pension . so if he earned £17'000.00 it would show £17'000.000 , that was it.. my husband got taxed and ni then the last thing to go off his wage slip was the pension contribution..

hope you can understand my message..

    thankyou from kerry..

My husbands pension contributions aren't deducted from his P60 either... I know this, because if they were, he wouldn't be earning 36k.

I have deducted them and will continue to do so.
