Hi Guys
After watching Martins show tonight I decided to check my credit report on Noddle. To my great shock (and now tremendous worry and sickness) I have found that I have 3 outstanding debts totaling £960. Between 2008-2009 I managed to get myself in a bit of financial trouble. I discoverd the joys and eventual horrors of easy credit. I quickly racked up around £3000 worth of debt. When I started back in full time employment in 2009 and made sure (as far as I was aware) to pay everything back that I owed. By the end of 2010 I no longer owed anything to anyone. Or so I thought. Clearly this is not the case.
Details are;

I belive that Debt 2 is a something from Littlewoods and Debt 3 is an 02 contract. Debt 1 is troubling me though. I have never had a credit card. I have not heard from any of these companys or the debtors that have taken on these accounts in over 3 years yet I have been racking up defaults on 3 accounts every month. Again, the stangest thing is that Debt 1 has only started defaulting May 2010. Debt 2 and 3 were defaulting from early 2009. I have never been contacted by Hillesden or Lowell.
I am really unsure as how to proceed. I have read nothing but bad things about both of these debt collection agencies and am very worried about contacting them. I do not earn a great deal and do not have much in the way of spare cash to pay these off quickly.
What should I do? This is really troubling me. Its going to be a long, sleepless night!!
If you need more info from me I am happy to provide. Thanks

You're not 'racking up defaults' - there is only one default per debt (even if that debt is sold onto another company). Noddle just displays this information in a strange way by putting a default indicator in each month, making it look like a default every month, but that's not the case.
You received defaults on the default dates shown, and those defaults stay on your credit report for six years.
You haven't heard from any of those creditors in over three years... if you don't hear from them for six years in total and you haven't paid or acknowledged the debts, they become statute barred which means they're unenforceable in court. You still owe the money so the companies can ask for it, but you can simply tell them you're not going to pay and they can't do anything about it.
In other words... it's up to you whether you want to make contact or wait and see if you hear from them. That first debt will nearly be statute barred if you haven't paid/acknowledged it since 23/07/2008 or earlier.
If you think the first debt is on your file in error you should be able to get it removed.What will your verse be?
