That is really expensive, i usually pay £8 or £5 on a bank holiday0

Yes, that sounds expensive. We pay £5 to £10 a pitch, although I've noticed that, around here anyway, the more expensive car boots attract the bigger crowds.0

I did a few with my mother to offload my grandmother's less valuable stuff and we got swarmed by dealers first time, I had to get aggressive with them.
Don't ever do boot fairs on your own, never let anyone rummage in your car, make sure one person unpacks while the other watches. Don't put anything valuable at the front and make sure table is steady and won't collapse.
You'll need carrier bags and newspaper and keep all dosh on you.0 -
And to look at the positive side as there is one, I do a car boot every other weekend and the result is I have a holiday every summer every year on the proceeds. Make the stall appealing to ensure people want to come look and talk to them about the weather or anything but your items unless they ask a question. Enjoy your day and hope it proves profitable.
I'd prefer to keep the Sundays and ditch the holiday!"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

My parents had a wicker chair in their shed that their neighbours offered to take to a boot sale, suggesting it might go for £10 - £20. I suggested trying it on eBay first, where it sold for just over £100! [Goodness knows why!]
I don't doubt a dealer would have paid £5 for it at a boot sale, claiming they were doing a favour and then sold it on for £200"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.
