"I would like to close such and such" ??0 -
Closing your account
To close your current account, please either drop into your nearest branch or write to us at::
Halifax, Account Closure Team, PO Box 548, Leeds, LS1 1WU.
All from their website......
link for non current accountsNever ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
You used to be able to do it with a click of the mouse online; not possible now. So much for progress, Halifax have never quite grasped the concept of 'online' banking.0

Last year they said it depended on the account:
For a current account you had to surrender all unused cheques and debit cards before the account could be closed, but any outstanding payments (including CPAs) would still be honoured and you had to sign to agree to this.
For savings accounts, they needed written confirmation to close and where to put any due interest. In branch they can print off the forms for you and you just sign. I remember I got 2p of due interest transferred
Probably why they no longer allow closure via OLB/Phone.0 -
Thanks guys,
Think a visit to branch will have to do.
Thanks again you've been very helpful
