Petrol light on new Ford fiesta Zetec

I have a new Ford Fiesta Style (13 plate) which is the version down from a Zetec, and mine has a warning light which comes on when the needle is about halfway down the red on the fuel gauge. It also chimes at me each time I switch the engine on with low fuel. I didn't do anything to activate it (other than run low on fuel). Mine is a diesel, though I can't imagine that makes a difference! I would contact your dealer.Only in our dreams are we free.
The rest of the time we need wages.

It might depend on the model.
I'm sure it goes something like:
Titanium > Ghia > Zetec > Style - possibly some others. Evidently from the post above, even the basic model has the feature.
I'd call it a dodgy sensor. The other way to test is to fill up a can with petrol, then drive around until your car stops so you can test. However doing this will suck all the crap from the fuel tank through to the engine but if it's a new car then there should be minimal crap in the fuel tank.
My Focus (56 plate) has a light, the LED changes to the remaining petrol (in mileage) when I reach 50 miles but no audio sound.0
