Tesco Direct Have Pulled a Fast One! Help Please!

Good afternoon everyone,

Last year I had one of Martins Moneysaving emails (approx april/may 2006) in which he was talking about Tesco Direct offering 1,000 extra Clubcard Points when you bought a television from them.

I duly bought a television and never saw any extra points added to my account. Over the past year or so I have been contacting them every other month for an update and have been pushed from pillar to post, being promised over and over again that they would be added to my account. They never were.

Now today, over a year after buying the television, Tesco Direct now say that there is no record of the offer and subsequently they will not allow me the points and they are "sorry for any dissapointment caused"!

My request is, does anyone out there keep a copy of Martin's money saving emails and, if so, is there any way I could get a copy of them for proof of this offer?

Help and advice in this matter would be greatly appreciated, considering how much profit Tesco have made in the past year!

Kind Regards,

Jenlozhon

If you click on the green money tips button on the left of the homepage it will bring up all martins previous e-mails in date order, if you look at the receipt from when you bought the tv for the date you should be able to pin point roughly which one it would have been in.
when you find it just print it off
    hope this helps

they did this to me also!!! mine was 500 pts for flowers and 1000 for spend on shopping over £75! I eventually got some vouchers after spending a small fortune in phone calls. However when I came to use the vouchers to change them to deals on line- they had been voided!!! Basically think they had sent them to me to shut me up!! I gave up!!!!

    Tesco are bar stewards.

A year ago I signed up for a months free trial DVD rental scheme that offered a free copy of “Love Actually”.

My trial DVDs took ages to arrive and were in such poor condition that one was unplayable.

I returned them at the end of the month but, because Tesco didn’t receive them back until after the free trial expired, I was charged about £13 for one months rental.

I have never received the free copy of “Love Actually” and numerous chasing emails got me nowhere. I gave up chasing them about it and decided to scam them out of the equivalent value of goods.

Yes, I effectively stole from them but not by shoplifting. I did it in such a way that I could not be caught. It is easily done but for obvious reasons I won’t go into details.

To be fair its not Tesco's fault, the dvd rental is actually from Lovefilm, search the forums here for loads of people complaining about similar things

Thank you for that although please be aware I in no way want to scam anyone, I just want what was offered at the time of my buying their product. I do not want to sucumb to their level of fraudulent advertising and false promises!!

My contract was with Tesco as far as I recall. I'm a Tesco Club Card holder and they mailed me about the DVD trial offer.

Nope your contract is with Lovefilm not Tesco if you read the t+c's

  • Just to update everyone, Tesco have flatly refused to credit my Clubcard with the points and are refusing to admit that they had ever run that promotion last year even though I have shown them proof. They will not accept 3rd party information as proof and they will not admit that they themselves must have written proof that they ran the promotion!

Subsequently, I have returned my Clubcard to them and requested they remove me from their mailing list. I have also informed Watchdog of their dealings and hope they might have had several complaints and that they investigate such a large company cheating it's customers.

Thank you all for any input and good luck everyone!

    Hi

This thread made me think back to when we took out a loan with Sainsbury's a few years ago, they offered loans of points (can't remember how many now) if you got the loan. It was all on a flyer we had picked up in store. They too wouldn't give us the points claiming they had never run that promotion!!! However my OH keeps everything, an anoying habit most of the time, but when I mentioned to Sainsbury's on the phone that I had this flyer they went all helpful. Still had to fax them a copy of the flyer but eventually got the points. I think they just hope most people will give in, but not MSE's!!!
