Scottish Power Pre payment meter - moving house

Hi,
I am moving house next month. I need the gas and electric ppm removing from my current rented property and a new one fitted at my new property. Will scottish power charge me for this and if so when would that need paying ?

Difficult to understand the reasons for your questions, but:
If you are a tenant and whilst you were in occupancy the meter was changed from a Credit meter to a PP Meter, for whatever reason be it debt or your choice, that meter will stay in place when you move - Even if your Landlord objects to a PPM.
Whilst you were a tenant you were the Utilities Account holder and contracted to Scot Power, who being the current supplier are responsible for the meter and still will be when you move out - Your landlord has no say in this
So far as a PPM is concerned at your new address, you will take over the meter and the supplier presently supplying that address - If it is a Credit meter it will take some weeks before it can be changed to a PPM - Some suppliers will do it for free whilst others make a charge0 -
Basically I moved in to current address two years ago and it was with utility warehouse so we switched to scottish powet and then a year later due to running into arrears we had to have a ppm fitted 3 months ago. We are planning on moving to another rented house soon where we will have to be with scottish power due to £600 debt but I don't want the ppm to stay in our current house as the landlord will freak and take money off our deposit .0

No - You don't have to be with Scot. Power at the new address
When you move you must use whatever Company is supplying that house on the day you move in - Register yor occupancy and your meter readings with them as soon as possible
There is a small chance that Scot Power are the current supplier, in which case they will roll-over the debt payments you presently have with them, but if they are not, you will have to come to an agreement with them as to how you pay off the debt on your present meter
It's important you take the intitiative by offering to make monthly payments - If you don't they are likely to get very tough with Debt Collectors and Bailiffs
So far as the landlord is concerned, he/she/they may not like haveing a PPM but it's nothing to do with them as they are not paying the bills - It is your contract with Scot Power that counts and you have had to abide by Scot Powers terms, not the Landlords
It's worth pointing out to the landlord that a PPM meter is an asset, as it protects him/her/they against a tenant skipping, leaving unpaid Elec bills0 -
So will my landlord be able to withhold my deposit to use it to get the ppm removed ?0
