GE Money claims can't find account

We are pretty sure we had PPI with a mortgage that was through first national mortgage company, ie GE Money. They have written back saying they can't locate account. I only have mortgage account number. That should be enough shouldn't it???

How long ago was it paid off, if it were many years ago they probably dont hold the records any more, so you need to supply proof.

Also, most First National mortgages were sold through mortgages brokers, so any complaint about the sale of PPI needs to go to the seller.
  • It was through a broker who is no longer trading. It was paid off 8 years ago

On a positive note, mortgage PPI is still regarded as a useful insurance. Even though you have no complaint, it should comfort you to know that you were protected from losing your home if the worst should have happened.
