Garage roller doors - paint to use

Hi there
After taking what seemed an eternity to sand down and paint this doors only a couple of years ago they are now cracking and flaking.
Are there any products (or tricks) you would recommend to start this process again which are more flexible than the product (not sure what it was) we put on last time.
Thanks in advance

Most if not all roller shutter doors will be ally or galvanised, don't sand either.
Each needs a dedicated primer, an etch primer in the case of ally, unsure but advice on the net here for galvanised.
Try a magnet against the door, if it sticks it's galv or pain steel, galvanised being indicated by a zinc coloured finish.;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
:)You need to equate this as if you were to paint a car, as metals need specific and correct paints, primers and application or you will get flaking, eggshell effects, or crinkling, as with cars if you dont do it correctly;)
That said its usually, as with cars, a choice of cellulose or enamel paints and the appropriate primer, and also spraying is also the best method of application:)Signature removed0 -
use bedec multi surface paint, it can be used on galvanised metal without any need for any primers or undercoathttp://www.bedec.co.uk/0
