i was looking at changing energy supplier and got an email this morning from MSE cheap energy club saying i could save £400 by switching to npowers 2014 fix tariff.
i did a quick search on uswitch and it came up with the same tariff but it says i could save £218 not £400..
So i went direct to npower and did a comparison on their site and that said i could save £130..
ALL on the same tariff. aug2014 fix.. all with the same figures on kw used.
so who do you believe? why such wide differences?

Of course you should trust nPower the most as it's their tariff and they would have the most accurate cost.
Did you check the unit price in the tariff details and was it different on all three?I am a moneysaver0 -
no.. exactly the same... ive just looked again and the annual amount of that particular tariff is the same so its the amount they think im spending on my current tariff thats the anomaly ..0

It's puzzling how they can come up with such a different result after you entered the same info.
I would check again with energyhelpline to see what they come up with.I am a moneysaver0 -

More information is required for anyone to look into this.
Please provide the following information.
1. Annual consumption figures you input
2. Your supply region (or first part of your postcode)
3. Your current supplier & tariff0 -

Incorrect, not least because it compares the 2 prices of two different tariffs provided by 2 different suppliers.
A better way would be to use some other comparison sites until 2 sites give the same result, as it would be unlikely that 2 independent sites make the same error0 -
ok.
Im with ebico for both gas and electricity..There is only one tariff. i entered as annual consumption elec - 3700 and gas 14000 both over estimates of actual use. my region is s60 :j0 -
Energyhelpline agrees with Uswitch that the savings would be £218 a year.
This is paying by monthly DD and staying with them a full year to get the discount.
npower tariffs can include a large discount paid at the end of each year -
anything from £42 to £105 a year. Therefore over the year you will save the money quoted, however, if you leave during the year you will lose the discount and some of your savings.0 -
All websites confirm the cost of the nPower deal will be £1071 p.a.
As Cardew says, energyhelpline confirms uswitch output that this results in an annual saving of £218 pa compared to Ebico
Cheap energy club/moneysupermarket.com uses the incorrect Ebico tariff rate for electricity. They use the 19.71p/kWh daytime E7 rate rather than the correct 15.72p/kWh single rate for your supply region (Yorkshire)
nPower doesn't give details of what rates they are using for Ebico, but they must be incorrect too.0
