Most banks are now writing to customers who had PPI. It doesn't mean that you're more likely to be refunded. The claim will be looked at in exactly the same way as any other claim, however they receive it.
Just be honest, if you can't remember, then say so. Making up reasons for misselling will be spotted and you might be questioned further.1 -
i know that this doesn't mean that they are admitting guilt but do you think it will inrecase the likelihood of a succesful claim?
It has no impact whatsoever. The parameters for sending it are just whether you had PPI or not.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.1 -

i suppose that's why the bank were able to take me for a sucker.
My daughter was sent one of these letters, because she was in a dark place at the time, couldn't remember most of the answers and was truthful to the point of don't know, don't remember and within a couple of weeks got a cheque for nearly £800. I think it was Dunstonh who said it may have been an auto payout, But it was very welcome, nevertheless.
So that's all I can say to be honest.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.1
