Being realistic?

To be honest, if you're interested in a 'career' rather than just a job - you should be more concerned about finding the right job than 'the right salary'. You're looking into two career areas that are not high paying.. so you should be looking for a fulfilling and worthwhile job instead - and one with prospects for training and promotionStated earlier iv seen laboratory jobs that im qualified for ranging from 12k-19k, thus the original query in my OP.
You've also limited yourself to a geographic area; something most graduates don't do. You may need to put a realistic face on things - we're in a recession and you'll be entering a hard job market full of people with more experience than you; who are looking for the same jobs as you
I'll answer this one.. I have a 2:2 (Genetics) from a Russell group uni, a Masters from the same one, I have unique skills and ten years of experience that mean I don't look for jobs paying under £50k. But, when I left uni after my masters, I was fortunate to find a job paying £18k in an area specific to my skills. It did mean moving 200 miles from 'home' thoughHow do other people 'value' their skills/qualifications0
