Thanks for posting the two links. Useful as they are for price comparisons, I am really looking for bulk/light bulk wholesale purchases. I would be interested if anyone had information of other wholesale clearance websites run by high street chains.

    Thanks again,

    John

You have to be careful buying from the Argos clearance website as there is a lot of rubbish on there, and it goes for silly money sometimes. I have bought from there and a lot of the stuff was beyond repair.

I also know a chap from Iceland who bought a load off there too and he threw 40% of it away as it was not repairable.

There are a couple of sites I will recommend though if you are looking for that type of stuff. http://www.xcat.co.uk and http://www.xcatauctions.com they are not related as far as I know.

Re the clearance bargains site on Ebay. I dont think this is Argos, but a company selling Argos returns. I dont think Argos would be selling on Ebay.

Oh and I forgot to say if you are looking for catalogue returns furniture, you could try http://www.furniture-wholesalers.co.uk
Not got much to say really. :)

Does this seem a little strange?

The Argos Clearance site you have to register for. At the bottom of registration page it states that all purchases have to be picked up from their Burton On Trent warehouse.

The other link from the 2nd post is to an ebay seller who has started today with nothing for sale?

    Am I missing something?
    Now proud Mumto3 :j
  • I just noticed that too with the ebay seller. Unless the f/b was bad but didn't think you could close and re-open and account in the same name that quick

have a look at https://www.halfcost.co.uk they seem to sell a lot of catalogue overstocks at bargain prices. I have ordered twice from them. |:) theyalso have a section of 2nds cotswold furniture now which looks tempting.
  • Hi,

I lurk on these forums all the time, and and always check here before buying! I found some wholesaler links posted on here and ended up starting a business. So im certainly greatful to this forum for that!

However argos clearance...argh is all i can say. The pallets usually go for very high prices. I managed to get one last week - apparantly B+ stock, and looked fine at a quick visual inspection, but got it home and when you take a closer look - more like b-. Will seriously impact my sales. Ive emailed and written to complain that the items are not as described, but not sure i can get my money back. Ill have to do alot of work to sell this just to break even.

So just a word of warning to others to make sure you know exactly what you get with these 'graded' items! Im personally going back to buying untested returns as its less outlay - plus not going back to Argos Clearance again!
