dispute with landlord over deposit to go to court

Hey guy. So a month ago now I posted about my landlord and him not giving my deposit back and you all agreed he should give it me back. (Cant search it on my phone but if anyone can and post it please do)
So advice was to write a pre court letter so I did this and got a letter back basically saying do what you want.
So now I need to take it too a small claims court. As far as I know he hasent put the deposit in a scheme as when I asked for details he said he had destroyed them already. Citizen advice said I could get 3 times the deposit back.
So how do I got about this, the fees and forms are slightly confusing me. I thought it was free to go small claims but its obv not. It also asks how much i want of him, so do I say 550 or do I say 3 times this as he couldn't provide the details of protection scheme.
Thanks in advance
