Digi camera problem

Loaded the camera software onto my PC and when I plug the camera into the USB port it is detected BUT the driver is not installed. Even when I put in the software file and location or the CD I get the same message.
Advice anyone?

    LONG WAY

This is the long, but is sure to work. Plug the camera in and have the CD in the CD ROM dirve. Then do:

(I am assuming you are using Win 2000 or XP)

    - Right-click on My Computer
    - Choose Manage
    - On left click on Device Manger
    - On right-hand pane click on USB hub to expand it
    - Double-clcik on the one that says Casio, Sony ...Camera...etc
    - Click on Re-install/Update Driver
    - Choose, 'No, Not this time', For using Internet/LiveDate and click Next
    - Click on Location to install driver and point to CD Rom Drive
    - Click next and the driver should be installed

    SHORT/EASY WAY

    - Insert CD and double click on it if it doesnt autorun
    - Click on option that says install USB Driver
    - Follow instructions
    - Now you should see the camera as a drive in My Computer and software should also pick it up.

    Hope this helps.
  • Thanks BB, I should have said that OP is Win98se. Driver does not appear in Device manager. Puzzling thing is that camera is recognised which would indicate that the USB connection is ok but the camera software cannot be located.
