Proposed sale costs at 0.5% and not knowing the likely sale price versus getting a certificate and selling via some of the companies already mentioned. Might depend on how much 0.5% equals in your case?
I agree with others that the sharesave sale is highly unlikely of itself to impact on the share price. As to the future direction of the share price - crystal ball needed!0 -
I don`t trade much these days but I noticed the Ftse 100 has broke the 6700 barrier for the first time since 2008.
Lloyds shares have gone up and are at the governments "break even" price @ 62p
Shares have had a really good run recently and maybe a reverse is due.
7000 on the Ftse has never been broken and that happened at the very end of 1999.
So it`s taken 13 years for the Ftse to not quite get to where it was.
It may not do it this time either.
Old adage: sell in May and go away.0 -

And what has inflation done in the mean time? You need to look at real (inflation adjusted) figures. So it`s taken 13 years for the Ftse to not quite get to where it was.
Don't forget the dividends it's paid out. Here is what happened if you reinvested them.
Dec20 1999, FTSE 100=6930, FTSE 100 TR=3141
Jan30 2006, FTSE 100=5780, FTSE 100 TR=3141
Aug17 2012, FTSE 100=5852, FTSE 100 TR=4077
Dec19 2012, FTSE 100=5972, FTSE 100 TR=4198
Feb3 2013, FTSE 100=6347, FTSE 100 TR=4466
Apr10 2013, FTSE 100=6387, FTSE 100 TR=4539
That's the most recent data I have at hand, but it's gone up a bit since then.
Notice how looking at the absolute value of the FTSE 100 doesn't tell you the whole story from the POV of someone fully invested during that period.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0
