Health insurance pre-existing insurance

Options
Hi all,

New to the site,

Just looking some general information regarding health insurance,

I am interested in getting taking this out as I have seen my fiancee wait months at a time to see specialists on the NHS and for her to be sent to the wrong specialists and then having to wait more time to be seen by the correct doctors!!

It is an absolute joke,

Any way my main question is about pre-existing conditions, my knees have always gave my a wee bit of bother over the years nothing to serious the pain comes and goes! It has always been something that I would liked to have looked at, but never really got round too!!

Does this come under 'pre existing conditions'? I did go to the doctors about 10 years ago, but was fobbed off as it wasn't serious! So I don't think that there is even a record of it.

Any help would be appreciated??

Cheers

If you have any worries about being covered then for peace of mind discuss it with the insurer.

Ask them to confirm the outcome of the discussion in writing.

You need to read the definition of pre-existing for each insurer as this does vary. On the basis that you've had ongoing symptoms, even if they are not constant, then it almost certainly would be considered pre-existing even if you've had neither a diagnosis nor sort medical advice.

Of cause some would argue that if you havent seen anyone about it then how are they going to know you've been having symptoms. The risk you run is them doing diagnosis and the evidence showing it is a much longer running problem than you claim and then you have a policy voided for fraud and having to pay for the doctors/ tests that exposed you

OP you're trying to get insurance then claim on it for something that happened beforehand. That's not how insurance works.

Your condition IS pre existing as you've stated and thus wouldn't be covered
