Catalogue debt

I am in debt with littlewoods, I went to the citizens advice who arranged for me to pay £5 a week, I was doing this online via my catalogue account until one day I couldn't log on to pay, I phoned them up and they told me the account had been passed over to NDR I phoned them and I was baffled as they were throwing figures at me, they said I could go online to pay through their website. When I got some money in so I could pay I went to the website where it said I needed an account number, which would never process. It kept saying my details don't match and NDR account, I kept getting texts to make payments on the site or phone the number. I couldn't phone the number as my landline was cut off. I got a letter from them saying the account had now defaulted and if I wanted not to be blacklisted then I need to pay £141.00 a month for 20 month (which I can't afford) and they also said that my account is in a queue to be sold. We only have the tax credits and my partners minimum wage comming in and we have four children. I'm so stressed I keep crying and ice not slept since I got the letter yesterday. What can I do? Please help.

Hi
I would write to NDR and state that you are currently only able to afford X per month (work out a sensible amount that you can afford).
Does the letter give you ways to pay? If not then I would either ask them for bank details so you can set up a standing order, or ask them for payment slips so you can make your payments. Make sure you keep on top of whatever payments you say you can afford.
I would also include the information from this template letter https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4078283 to state that you require all further communication to be in writing and ask them to stop phone calls and texts.
As you are not paying the originally contracted amounts then a default on your credit file is always likely to happen, its quite likely littlewoods have already added it when you started paying £5 pw. There is no such thing as a blacklist.
If in a few months your debt is sold to another debt collector who then contact you then you write to them with the same letters to state how much you can currently afford.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I telephoned NDR and they told me that the debt is 'in a queue to be sold' and that the only payment plan they would be willing to accept from me would be £141 over 20month and that's all. I was wondering if I was to make token payments of £10 every week would they still sell my account on?0

You would be best advised not to call them at all but to do everything in writing.
The 'queue to be sold' phrase for example is complete nonsense. If they make a decision to sell it, then they'll sell it that day, it doesn't sit in a queue.
Offer a payment you can afford in writing and keep up with those payments, they may accept that or they may sell it on. They might accept those reduced payments for a few months and then still decide to sell it on.
But even if they sell it on you just keep on paying the amount you can afford to whoever owns the debt.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

If you signed up online, chances are all the paper work will in fact be intact.
Hopefully you can come to an agreement with NDR - I found them to be pretty helpful from my dealings with them. Once you have sorted this, just be sure not to get in this situation again though, let your credit file recoverDebt as of Dec 2012: 8900
