Asus Windsows 8 problems

Asus K55V, windows 8, have had this laptop since last November brought with Norton, numerous problems with Norton eventually got rid of it (norton), laptop not been really working 100% since, or maybe it never did..... shuts itself off, no blue screen just goes off, didn't do it for a while, then twice the other day, then yesterday all of a sudden can't get any browsers to work, it comes on, tiles come up but when you click on them they won't do anything, tried IE and Firefox nothing.... can't get thing up like control panel, brought laptop from Currys:mad: who told me a couple of months ago that they would charge me if it's a software problem.....not the internet as am on old laptop now, can anyone help please.

I got rid of the Norton a couple of months ago, had to do a system refresh? Took it back to earlier setting, factory? though didn't lose anything I'd saved.0

It's gone I'm pretty sure as when I refreshed laptop it went back to the free trial Mcfee, plus before I got rid I couldn't get windows defender to work as norton was still, there, after I installed Avast. I can't get Norton tool to work as laptop won't connect to the internet.0
