    Hi Friday People,
What a chilly day....it's got to start improving, it's getting near festival season......no rain here in the Midlands yet, but the sky is so black it's almost purple!
Firstly @karb - Awful news for you. I would have thought that 3 months notice might have been more normal, doesn't sound as though it's been handled very respectfully. My partner is on yet another year of uncertainty, as they've all been told they'll be re-interviewed for their own jobs in Spring & there are not enough jobs for everybody. Like you, my b-i-l has been on short term contracts for about 3 or 4 years now. It creates such a lot of worryingly scary uncertainty & really shows up the lack of basic people skills among senior managers when you see how poorly staff facing redundancies are often treated. I wish you all the best in the job hunting stakes.
    Today's MS activity so far:
*Have cleaned whole house using minimal products.
*Washed hair & JUST managed it within the 4 mins on the little shower-timer thingy. Dried it naturally to save energy used on hairdryer & straightners.
*Did a few surveys. Only 4,000 points away from another £30 Debenhams voucher on Toluna. Lots of Onepolls today.....who ever commissions them to find out this stuff? It seems so meaningless. Lots of questions today about which things most affect my body confidence & no box to tick saying "I am a self-actualised confident woman who has much more meaningful things to think/worry about than this silly frivolous, probably misogynistic nonense!!" Oh well, I shall enjoy the pay-out when it comes.....
*Ran out of bread first thing, so baked a loaf rather than eating into grocery money needed for tomorrow's main shopping.
*Soup from freezer for lunch, dinner as per May meal plans.
*Ebay feedback left for my buyers.
    Things still to do:
    *Sow more radishes
*Do some of the leisure things I didn't do yesterday afternoon due to getting carried away in the garden. None involve spending any money, I'm glad to say!
*Chivvy Mr f into booking the car in for its tyres & brakes job as I have earmarked the money only to have this work done, not for a big fine if we are found driving around with dodgy tyres.
    Cheers for now,

Hi foxgloves. In fairness, they have given me the requisite notice period (in my case, 6 months). The problem has occurred because they actually gave me this notice over three years ago. I've been given short term extensions to that notice period ever since then, because their have been other temporary roles that needed covering, and I was expecting that they would do the same again.

I suppose I should be thankful that I've managed to hang on as long as I have. They were perfectly within their rights to have let me go three years ago.

The work I do will still end up being done by someone, but it's not my actual official job, I've just been covering it on a short term basis since my actual post, in a different department, was cut out, so I can't claim any entitlement to the post on a permanent basis

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi Everyone

I've not posted in one of these threads but I've been doing quite alot of dfw stuff - I guess I've changed my lifestyle.

Lastnight I watched my ebay sales end (exciting to keep pressing F5!!!)

Today I parceled them up and took them to the post office.
Updated ebay and sent a pay request to one buyer.
Transfered £98 from paypal to linked bank account.
2hrs that amount cleared and then I transfered it to my Emergency Fund.
Joined Nectar Adpoints and watched a few videos -yawn.
    Checked all my online accounts

Afternoon all, late posting today as I have been out all morning, met friend for coffee in town which turned into two coffees and a free scone, so spent £5 that I should not have. I really need to have harsh words with myself.

Another friend wanted to go out for lunch but I declined and made her lunch at my house instead which was lovely

Nothing much else for me today, chill until its time to go to work tonight for a ten hour night shift and will be asleep most of the weekend which is a deterrent to spending !

    Much love

@karb - Oh, I see, yes I guess that means it can't have been unexpected, but still not what anyone wants to hear. I hope you find a good permanent post soon, & that it will hopefully be one without quite so much uncertainty lurking in the background. Good luck.

    Morning everyone.

Well yesterday wasn't a good day. It was finally confirmed that I will be made redundant at the end of the month. :(

Really sorry to hear that Karb. Is there a chance of another job quicky?
