Lidl cat food - Coshida pouches

Anyone have any experience of this and know how it is nutritionally ??

Picked some up for my cat last week and have noticed a vast improvement in smells... his poo is a lot less disgusting !!

Hoping to stick to it but not finding much online - afraid incase its like cat equivalent of McDonalds ! He does get dry food and also some raw.

I don't have experience of the Lidl pouches - but if they are anything like the Aldi ones they are on a par with the most expensive brands. I said on another thread my sons fussy cat would eat Aldi cat food pouches - and absolutely loved the tray ones! he thought he was getting gourmet cat food!

Expensive doesn't mean good when it comes to let food. Not by a long shot.

A 13p pouch of hi life from home bargains is vastly better than a 70p pouch of whiskas from Tesco.

    Ingredients are what count.

generally speaking supermarket food is very low quality, you just have to read the ingredients (they basically only list 4% meat and who knows what rubbish...), regardless of buying the cheapest or very expensive one.
Personally I found the best value for money from zooplus, their Smilla range is reasonably priced, higher meat content and much cheaper than most supermarket brands.

Some supermarket brands are actually OK, like nature's way, applaws, highlife and encore, but they are very expensive, and most importantly they are not complete food, they lack on certain nutrients such as taurine, so a cat would need to eat other food as well.
Amazon also has some good deals from time to time, like for nature's way, although Smilla is still cheaper.

Personally, we compromise by not giving pouches that are incredibly expensive, and give good quality tinned food instead. Another compromise could be to give some good quality dry food as well as wet (not everybody agrees, some people think dry food is very bad for cats, but in my opinion quality dry like applaws is much better than low quality supermarket food).

Lots of options out there :)

If you have a home bargains or b&m near you they often do hi life or feline fayre pouches for 19p. They're usually around 60% meat.

Twelve pouches of food containing 60% meat for £2.28 isn't bad at all.

Thanks all I will have a look around but this is the first I have tried that don't make his poos smell disgusting ( well they always do but before you could smell even from upstairs )

He also gets Harringtons dry and some raw food.

Price is no indicator of quality.

A high meat % diet is not good for your dog.

Those of you saying you get what you pay for are wrong. High costs are due to aggresive expensive marketing NOT quality of ingredients.

Does a Tag Huer watch £3,000 tell the time better than a rotary watch £100?

Dogs and cats are carnivores. What makes you think they would thrive on a cereal based diet?
