Henderson doors. Worthless guarantees!!!

So we bought a new build with garage doors supplied by the well known firm of Hendersons.
They are plastic coated with a ten year guarantee. There are rust spots coming through the coating, but Hendersons say only the original purchaser can activate the guarantee.
As the original builder went bust and the builder who took over did not buy the doors Hendersons say TOUGH!
Just so annoyed that a big firm can act like this.

It's not really Henderson's fault - it's the original builder's fault; they should have activated the warranties.

Unless there's a type fault though (lots of these doors having this issue, thus leading to a significant cost impact for them) then it may have been good PR for Henderson's to respond with a form of goodwill.
