unsure of full amount to balance tranfer

hello me and the missus have got the 25 month balance transfer card from Halifax and have transferred 1 balance from our current credit card and have another card to transfer the balance from. the only problem is we don't know the exact amount on the card as barclaycard are being a nightmare to deal with as it used to be an egg card and is now with them. what id like to know is for example if we put that wed like to transfer £400 when the bill is £350 would they just take £350 and forget the other £50 or would they be unable to process it as its not the exact amount? hope that makes sense. any help would be great

Either barclaycard will accept it and put the old card into credit (then you'll need to get them to refund you)

Or they will just reject it outright and you could try again with a lower amount if there is time

Why can't you look at the balance on your barclaycard online account? Or send them an email - I have personally always found their email response very good.

I have a Barclaycard (formerly Egg) and i can view my statements online. Halifax will just send whatever amount you ask them to send, if you send too much, it won't be sent back.
