Thanks for that rogerblack, he has just completed and sent off his renewal for ESA but we have just missed the 13 month deadline to appeal having understood we only had a month!
His condition has worsened and he has the full backing of psychiatrist so only time will tell. If he is now put into the support group at this assessment. would his money increase at all?I don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.

A couple of things happen.
He goes back onto contributory ESA, so other household income doesn't matter, and the above reduction stops.
His allowance goes up by £5/week or so.
If he also gets DLA at mid-rate care or above, he may qualify for a premium.
As to 13 months - pay close attention to the dates - what matters is the date of the letter telling him that he was in the work-related group. Is it possible this is within 13 months - even though payment might have started earlier.0 -
"The Mangler", my heart goes out to you. It must be so, so difficult as a Carer. I only see it from the care for side and whenever possible I make sure my wife gets time out, TLC and some pampering.
The loss of the money hits hard when it is so little, but is so much. I wish you the best of luck0
