Click here for the manual containing instructions to fit more RAM to your laptop. It is incredibly simple. There is a dedicated hatch at the bottom of the laptop.

    Instructions are from Section 8-4.

You can buy a 512MB RAM module for £10.32 or a 1GB RAM module for £21.18.

As long as there is no physical damage to the machine, either of these will bring a noticeable performance improvement to your computing experience.
You can fit the RAM yourself quite easily within five minutes.

Once done, Waddler8, closed and I will be on hand to help you get the best from your machine. No need to pay someone to do it for you each time.

Interested in why a laptop. There could be desktops that could shave a few quid off your budget. Operating system can be upgraded with a decent amount of ram. And one of the best anti-virus packages is Avast, the free version. As NiftyFingers hints, avoid PC World, except for a tour to see the machines possibly. And computers are not a dark art, solving your own problems can be very satisfying. :)

In case the links above have timed out, you need 200 Pin DDR SoDimm PC 2700 or PC 3200. 512MB or 1GB RAM(according to your pocket).
