    As the company involved seem to have very good customer care and the best warranty going I think I will wait till they get back to me and see what happens

    Thanks for the advice, but we decided to stick to our guns and eventually we recieved a replacement TV (yes a new one) the other two have gone back. the store were helpful but comunications were at times confused hence the time it took to sort things out.
    I notice one person said we were lucky to get anything offered, but thats not so really as we bought from this online store because of the 5 year warranty we didnt expect we would be using it. Our previous Sony trinitron lasted 21 years and was still working ok when we changed it! this Sony Bravia lasted three years, still alls well that ends well thanks fo sorting things out John Lewis they get there in the end.
