Norwich and Peterbrorough credit card - WARNING

I thought I’d make you aware of a problem I’ve been having with balance transfers as it could be could be something which affects a great many customers. I was under the impression that all credit cards were compatible when it came to balance transfers. I put a balance onto a Norwich and Peterborough credit card because it had no switching fee and a long interest free period. When the time came to move the balance on I opted for a Sky card a few weeks ago. The card was approved and duly arrived in the post. However, when I rung up to transfer the balance from my N&P card they wouldn’t accept it as it wasn’t recognised by their system. The same applies to Natwest although they are adding my N&P account number to a list which means the balance transfer can take place in about 6 weeks. I don’t know if this is commonplace but other N&P customers should be aware of this if, like me, they were attracted by a 0% transfer fee initially. It could prove very difficult to move the balance onto another card!

Hm, the card is run through the Halifax. If you just tell them it's a Halifax card it may solve the problem - maybe worth a try.
