hi guys, me again
I am having the most awful time at the moment. i am up and down like a yoyo. the last couple of days i have cried non stop even at work. Just as i think im making progress something happens.
posted a thread last week about how id picked myself up as canceelled a couple of cards and had lots of encouragement from urselves.
However since then my freezer has broken. In a month we have had to pay for a new toilet seat, washing machine, kettle and now a freezer. we have vouchers to caver most of the washer but this is ridiculas! a bulb has gone in me car and the daughter needs na pe kit by next week.
i have no option but to pay my share on a credit card.- but how on earth can i ever sort anything let alone my sanity when everything seems to be against me.
i am such a mess and i like to be in control- its like i'm a different person

HI Shamu
I'm really sorry you are feeling so low. Have you heard of freecycle. This is an organisation that allows people with things they no longer need to offer it to people that need/want it. You just collect it for free. have a look at http://www.freecycle.org/ to see if there is one near you.
You daughters PE kit, have you spoken to the school if you are having trouble getting it? Tesco vouchers have just come out can you buy it from there?
You do need to get a bulb sorted on the car because you don't want to be stopped by the police, phone around a few local garages to see how much they charge they might be cheaper than Halfords, they are very easy to fit so don't go thinking you need the garage to do it.
I haven't read your other thread so I dont know the extent of your problems but I hope this helps.0 -
Hi, I know how you feel. I had car repairs then storm damage and my heating packed in. As for the freezer could you not ask for one on freecycle? Ok so its not new but a good clean and you get a freezer for nothing. As for the pe kit for your daughter, is it a specific one or is it just any shorts, t-shirt and trainers. If its any then Tesco are doing 20% off all their clothes at the moment and their trainers are plain white perfect for pe.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Which bulb has gone on your car? If you drive a popular make then you could try the scrap yard. I used to use them a lot when I had a ford fiesta. Speak to them nicely and they might even fit the bulb for you. It was pennies for the stuff.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Hi there, so sorry to hear of your troubles. I really do hope that things pick themselves up for you soon. just here to give a big hug. you've done fantastically with your debts so far, i'm sure this is just a hiccup and you'll be back on track very soon. Don't loose heart hon, things can and do get better.
Lots of hugs

Oh honey!
I am sorry to hear that things arent going too well, what type of car do you have?
I have changed my mums bulbs for the last 15 odd and then it only costs about 70p. If you look helpless enough a lot of independent car stockists will fit it for you or show you how to do it. My car is easy to do and so is my mums. All you need to do is ask what bulb do you need for your car and is it easily fittable.
Can you get any of the PE kit in a supermarket rather than uniform shop?

It always seems to be the case - just post LBM something breaks and there is an unavoidable expense! Echoing MissPoppy, try freecycle - it's amazing what people will give away! Otherwise, have you got a charity furniture shop nearby?
PE Kit - sometimes this stuff goes on Freecycle too, so definitely worth a look - otherwise you might be able to pick something up on Ebay or in a charity shop.
If you do have to pay for some of this stuff on a CC, just make sure it's the one with the lowest APR!Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Hi. thanks for your suggestions. have tried tesco- no trainers to fit but can get rest for about £3 so thats not too bad i guess. cant do freecycle as its a built in cupboard freezer. (already in when got house-i'd never agree to that) means i may need someone in to get old one out-but will ask dad for help first.
i have a new style vectra and its a break light that has gone. Never thought of a scrapyard although was gonna do the totally helpless female routine.
im now hoping and praying that this isnt the start of my next set of 3 to breakjune debt totals:

i'd definitely phone a few breakers where you live.
Might be worth registering with your local freecycle anyway, they have amazing stuff available!
Just see this little challenge as 'character forming'.......you'll sail through it when you know you can come out the other side and face things."Stay Wonky":D

I know its not great for the ego to have to pretend to be helpless but it does work
I go to know my OH when he helped me out getting a car when I was skint and just been dumped and he was great, but at least now he knows I am only a bit helpless and that is only on certain things
Where abouts do you live and I can ask him for ideas?Debt Free - done
