Best way to invest savings, moving to US

Hi guys,
I kindly ask for your independent advise.
I've got enough saved up to get a 25% mortgage in London (it would be my first one) but I will be moving to the US in a couple of months.
I don't have really ties to the UK, so I'm wondering A) Does it makes sense to move that money over to the States, and if yes what's the cheapest method.
or ist it wiser to maybe leave the money here and invest it in some save stocks or property? I've heard of a scheme where you get a mortgage with the aim to rent it out or something like that, so I don't have to manage it.
It's safe to say I'll come back to the Uk in 2-5 years.
Thanks guys!

Personally, and presuming you don't need the money in the US and can afford the mortgage, I'd buy in the UK now before moving, it means when you return you have a safety net of a property should prices have rocketed.
Have a look at some buy-to-let mortgages, you might want to consider using a letting agent though as you won't be on hand to manage the property, they'll take a cut, but good ones will be worth it.
2 years probably isn't long enough for the property to have advanced in real terms that much, but in 5 years you should be winning.0 -
Thanks isofa,
Sounds good, wouldn't shares be another option? don't really know the name, but it's like a fond/shares package with shares from different industries ?!?
thanks!0
