Interesting. Do you not think that with such a small difference between the interest rates of MBNA and Halifax, that the Halifax is clearable in one payment and the possibility of then getting a 0% or lower rate offer that it would be best to target Halifax before MBNA?

I think clearing one in full would be a good psychological boost for the OP, as it is as much about attitude, commitment and motivation as it is about numbers.

I hid £39000 in debt from my husband, but i did tell him(after I had contacted pay plan) and we are still married, happily even.

He is even happier its going to be paid off this month though :)

Thank you for all your responses! No- not on JSA, I'm just a homemaker with a small income. I was happily going along, burying my head in the sand, and would have carried on that way if it wasn't for my husbands job :( I am truly shocked and dissapointed with myself.

I think i will concentrate on the Halifax card first, i can just about manage that one in the next month or so. I have a few things i should sell, so i will pop over to a board who can help with ebay etc.

Thank you for the help! I have listened.

(and what a muppet for believing i had a good credit score- seriously deluded over here :D)

Burying your head in the sand never does anyone any good, but when you're in such a situation and you have people telling you to face up to it, it is hard to do.

Myself, who used to bury my head so to speak am glad that I faced up to the music and sorted out my debts, I just wished I'd done it sooner.

    Good luck :)

Don't worry. You are not the first and definitely will not be the last to be misled by Experian. If you got the free trial then remember to cancel before the fees kick in.
